For our first Advocacy Event of 2013 and of the 113th Congress, more than 100 Immigration Voice members gathered in Washington D.C. to attend over 150 meetings over two days. Immigration Voice was honored by a special invitation to present at the White House Briefing on High Skilled Workers and Commonsense Immigration Reform.
It was a great day for our youth advocates – 16, 18, and 20 years of age, who shouldered great responsibility on their young shoulders by representing issues affecting over a million people in the green card backlog.
As over a hundred members of Immigration Voice attend this exclusive briefing today, everyone sincerely represented each and everyone who could not be here to share the harsh realities of the decade long green card backlogs. This event serves as a reminder that even though the weeks and months ahead are not going to be easy, together, we will persevere.
