Immigration Voice held its second advocacy event of the year in Washington, D.C. to pass the bill H.R.213 – The Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants Act. Members attended 300+ meetings. Most crucially, we were honored by a meeting with the White House Immigration Team. This meeting served as an opportunity to petition the administration to accelerate implementation of the fixes that were announced by President Obama in November 2014.
Immigration Voice also hosted a congressional reception in Washington, D.C., which was attended by key congressional staffers, the media and high skilled immigrants from across the country. The champion of the Fairness bill, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (Utah), spoke at the event. He emphasized the importance of the bill and thanked Immigration Voice for our continued advocacy around the Fairness bill at the grassroots level and in Washington, D.C.
